If you'd like to become a team sponsor
and have your business logo featured above, please see our
benefits package and
letter
for more information and also contact our
marketing manager. Thank you!
Check out our eMarketplace
page! On this
page you can advertise any service you offer.
If you'd like to
get in on the fun and profit, send a message to
Michelle with your
information. You can even include a PDF or JPEG file of your
advertisement as you'd like it to appear. We'll then post your service
here for other Marlins families to view.
We are now full and accepting wait list only. Thank you! Please
e-mail Michelle if you'd like to be in the waiting list. We thank Felix for all his hard work for maintaining the site previous years. Thank you again for your services.
Breaking news (other than that this is
definitely, unquestionably, indisputably, ineluctably my last website
update): There are still registration slots open. Please
e-mail Michelle if you still want a spot on this marvelous swim
team. We are forming a waiting list with priority given to in-district
swimmers, so this is your last chance to get on the team for 2012. All
right, I am now skulking back to my retirement. Really, I am not kidding
this time; I mean it.
All right, this is it for me! This is
absolutely, positively the last time I'm updating this website before
ceding the reigns of power to Mr. Suh. Having said that, we thank Wirth
Financial & Insurance Services for their generous support of the
Westpark Marlins. That's it; I am totally done here now. Totally.
And don't forget about registration Sunday (really, I should just invoke
executive privilege and make my kid register), and always remember to
keep your browsers pointed right here at the Marlins website.
Encore, encore! Well, I thought I was
retired, but I was getting bored sitting at home watching the news about
the upcoming Earth Day and tree huggers like Angelina Jolie and Natalie
Portman. (Memo to self—work on sycamore impression . . .) I was missing
everything Marlins. Luckily, it turned out I had to make one more teensy
weensy update to my beloved website, and that is to let everyone know to
fill out this
waiver form and bring it with you to registration on April 22. OK,
that is it! Now I'm absolutely, indubitably done here. Happy swimming!
During tonight's board (bored?) meeting,
we decided that now would be a propitious time for a website update
given that registration for the 2012 season is happening in just a few
days. So for all you parents lucky enough to have children who actually
want to do something useful with their lives this summer (sadly, my
younger progeny isn't one of them), the schedule for
Sunday, April 22, goes like this:
Returning swimmers, 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.; new in-district swimmers, 2
p.m. to 3 p.m.; and new out-of-district swimmers, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Registration is at the Marlins
home pool. Bring this
registration form and read the
volunteer agreement, among other things. Now, we can't legally force
you to abide by the volunteer agreement, but be warned that slackers who
don't will endanger their souls.
We would like to welcome our newest
sponsor, Dr. Joseph Passamano. Thank you, sir!
Folks, I've had the time of my life being
the statistician and webmaster since the 2008 season. I'm retiring now (thank you,
Mega Millions!). Fortunately, the puissant blandishments of new team
president Michelle were enough to persuade last year's president,
Jennifer, to be the new sucker—I mean, statistician—and Chang Suh to
assume webmaster duties. Since Mr. Suh just happens to be a professional
web designer, you and I will undoubtedly be blown away when he remakes
this site. I can hardly wait for that and humbly apologize for not
rendering this website as exciting as it'll unquestionably become under
his aegis. These are exciting times to be a member of the Marlins
family. I'm going to miss it a lot but will always be with the team in
spirit. I thank everyone who's offered me appreciative comments during
my tenure here. Good luck, my friends, and go Marlins!!
